Lizbeth Sargant (リズベス・サーガント , Sāganto Rizubesu) is a Sorcerer and aged matriarch of the Sargant family.
Appearance[]
Lizbeth is an older woman with white hair and blue eyes while wearing sunglasses.
Personality[]
Lizbeth was a psychopathic and narcissistic woman. She views almost everyone, even her own child and grandchild, as tools to further her superiority. Her drive for superiority fuels her cruelty, such as purchasing a person for her son to practice torture and kidnapping werewolf cubs to force the parents to serve her. She is proud, aloof and very capable of cruelty, ruling her family through fear and brutality. Cold and calculating, she is incapable of expressing her feelings except in the most primitive ways. She is shown to be obsessed with bringing her son, Adam, back to life out of a twisted sense of ownership towards him, since while she highly valued his abilities and put all her hopes on him of continuing her legacy, she never actually loved him as a son. While all of her cruel behavior and treatment of others, particularly Philomela, is in part due to being part of a family that always prioritized concepts like tradition and lineage at the expense of values like empathy and love. This demonstrates that she never made the effort to truly connect with others even when given the opportunity, dedicating herself solely to proving herself as superior to others and commanding respect.
History[]
Lizbeth is the first daughter of the Sargant family. A gifted magic practitioner without any boundaries for experimentation or excellence, she quickly surpasses all people around her in her youth. She pursues her own development to the exclusion of all else. She is the obvious and unchallenged heir to her family legacy, and looks forward to taking control, except for her obligation to provide an heir. Adam, her son, shares her gifts and wins her over with his dogged love toward her. Although he does not share her single-minded desire to destroy anything in her path.
In the past, she pinned her family's hopes to her only son Adam Sargant. However, Adam, disgusted by her callousness and his family's underhanded legacy, refused to follow her vision of his future. Adam, having fell in love with a slave that his mother purchased, fled together with her to start their own family away from his degenerate mother's world.
Though the couple believed that they had escaped from Lizbeth, they were wrong as the old woman knew their exact location. She maintained her hand from exacting retribution at least until Adam's child, Philomela Sargant, was born. It was her intent to abduct her newborn grandchild to blackmail Adam into returning to the family. Her plan did not go as planned as when one of her agents tried to coerce Adam back into the family ta gunpoint, Adam willingly chose to commit suicide. Later, her agents managed to kill Adam's wife, leaving only Alcyone and Philomela into their custody.
Seeing Philomela as a stain on her family's legacy and the cause of her son's death, Lizbeth treated her granddaughter as nothing more than a tool. Even she suffered from the loss of her son, who she desperately wanted to be brought back, thus the old woman concocted a scheme over a decade in the making to achieve her son's resurrection.
Using her family's resources, she tracked down a family of werewolves in the northern regions and captured them. She forced the parents to follow her orders using their own cubs as collateral. When Philomela was only 8 she dispatched her, the werewolves to Webster family estate to massacre everyone just to obtain the Webster spiders, leaving only Lucy Webster the only survivor as the trio could not follow through on killing a child.
Around the time, she came in conflict with Veronica Rickenbacker, one of the heirs to the house that she served. After noticing Philomela taste test her food which was poisoned by her older brother, Veronica's order is making Lizbeth allow her granddaughter to become her attendant. Unable to refuse, Lizbeth was forced to obey her mistress and permit Philomela to attend the College.
Plot[]
College Arc[]

Sensing that her plots at the College could be discovered, Lizbeth attempted to withdraw her granddaughter of the the institution. However, Liza Quillyn denied the request until Christmas, seeing that the College be sealed at least until the perpetrator of the strange incidents was apprehended.
