The Seven Shields is the name given to the seven noble families that founded the College in order to prevent knowledge of magic and sorcery from dying out. Each of these seven families have since then sent members of their family to enroll or manage the College, but its noted that not all of them get along and some are outright hostile. They all have their own brand of sorcery and a number of disciples.

Also known as the "Guardians", they have many sorcerers skilled in the craft for the sake of dealing with conflicts outside of the college. In other words, they act as magical mercenaries.[1] Their speciality is body modification.[2]
