Episode 7: Talk of the devil, and he is sure to appear.
Following up on the final task given to them by the Church; Chise and Elias investigate whether or not a Church Grim, otherwise known as a black dog, is hostile or not. The dog in question was named Ulysse, who saved Chise from certain peril because she reminded him of someone from his past named Isabel.
Episode 8: Let sleeping dogs lie.
The kid, whose name is revealed to be Cartaphilus, attacks Chise and her group with his Chimera with a newly attached head that once belonged to Isabel. In retaliation, Chise forms a pact with the Church Grim, Ulysses, and changes his name to Ruth, granting them the power to defeat Cartaphilus and learn a little more about the mysterious boy.
Episode 9: None so deaf as those who will not hear.
After being kicked out of the house by Silver, Chise goes on a shopping trip with Ruth and is later accompanied by Angie and her familiar Hugo. The following day, Chise becomes acquainted with Joel and his Leánnan sídhe observer.
Episode 10: We live and learn.
Chise returns to Dragons' Aerie to have a wand crafted for her so she can have better control over her Magic. After failing to do so, Lindel informs Chise about his first encounter with Elias who he later introduced to his Master Rahab. Meanwhile, Elias is visited by a representative from the College named Aldolf Stroud, who voices his interest in Chise.
Episode 11: Lovers ever run before the clock.
More of Lindel and Elias' past is revealed, and how after being attacked in a village trying to gain some food, their bond together strengthens. Chise also nearly completes her wand and Lindel displays his magical ability through song.
Episode 12: Better to ask the way than go astray.
Once Chise's wand was completed, she meets with Nevin in the afterlife. Her heart-to-heart with Nevin makes Chise open her heart to a more positive outlook concerning herself, Elias, and her parents. After she completed crafting her wand, Chise returns home and reunites with Elias.
