Introduction
|
The Faerie Queene. (妖精の女王。, Yōsei no joō) is the 6th episode of the first season of The Ancient Magus Bride anime.
Synopsis[]
Two weeks pass since Chise purified the corruption at the lake in Ulthar, and she's yet to awaken from her sleep. Thanks to the help from Oberon, the King of the Fae, Chise awakens from her deep slumber and is introduced to Oberon and his wife, Titania.
Summary[]
Perched upon a tree branch, the Sorcerer from Matthew and Mina's memory hums a tune while gazing at the moon.
Elsewhere, Renfred and Elias debate with one another as Chise purifies the stagnation from the lake. Amid this, Renfred questions Elias' motives for buying Chise. On the other hand, Elias questions how he got ahold of that information, his purpose there, and who took his arm. However, cane Renfred can answer, Chise interrupts their conversation, by completing the purification. Elias compliments Chise for a job well done, and Renfred and Alice take their leave, but before leaving warn them about people targeting Chise. Elias then gives Chise a brief explanation of his history with Renfred and then catches the exhausted Chise, who asks if she'll genuinely die soon. Without hesitation, Elias explains it's true; however, he hopes to prevent it from happening. They then further discuss Chise's future, where Elias offers to wipe her memory of what she had learned, but she chooses to keep it and vows to stay by his side until she's no longer needed and then passes out.
Two weeks pass, and Elias travels to a hollowed-out tree stump in the nearby forest carrying food made by Silver, where Chise is still asleep. Shortly afterward, Simon arrives, noting his concern for Chise. Moments later, the Fae Queen Titania arrives alongside Spriggan and a few black dogs. Elias introduces Titania to Simon, who explains that her husband Oberon wasn't there because of his rambunctious nature and that she wanted to meet Chise in person. Titania then notices Simon and expels him from the forest after realizing he's a priest.
Then, Oberon appears beside Chise, who takes an immediate interest in her. After a brief chat with Elias, Oberon wakes Chise up using his magic, who was thereafter introduced to the King and Queen of the Fae. However, their conversation is cut short when Oberon pesters Chise and Elias with personal questions. Under Titania's orders, Spriggan orders the dogs to attack Oberon into submission. Before leaving with her husband, Titania invites them to visit her domain, but Spriggan denounces the invitation toward Elias as he's a "half-shell".
Eventually, Chise and Elias find Simon on their way home, but he's forced to leave mere moments after. Chise tells Elias that she wishes his experiment works, and he reassures her before they go on to return home.
At home, Silver serves Chise and Elias dinner, including some aged Christmas Pudding.
